This Variety of Bottlebrush is one that has all the same attributes of its taller counterparts but in a much small package as the Little John species grows to around under 1 meter and if correctly planted, fertilised and pruned these plants can be used as a hedge to form a wall of colour.

As a native Australian plant it is very hardy but will not tolerate long dry spells or extreme frost like conditions which is why these plant can grow to look quite straggly if not looked after regularly to maintain a vigorous health plant.

Bottlebrush plants are popular to many native birds especially honey eaters and will bring a boost to the spring colour to your garden. Straggly plants can be rectified by hard pruning to promote new growth once the are established, these plants are also known for their longevity as most can live for up to 20-40 years. thanks for reading and have fun in the garden.
