The Yucca is a very popular plant in gardens all over the country largely for its very low maintenance requirements and ease of propagation as they are very fast growing and can survive in arid conditions, but also if maintained will add nice height and a tropical feel to any garden.

Because Yuccas grow so fast people do end up giving away the cuttings from yuccas and this is by far the cheapest option if wanting yuccas in your garden as some older yucca plants can be very expensive, For places in Victoria when taking cuttings this should be done in December to may if you wish the propagate them. When yucca plants are small they can be used in pots for little statement pieces on tables or shelves to add a softness to open areas. The Yucca elephantipes does have flowers that appear from summer to autumn they are white bell shapes and in fact in their native land they are sometimes mistaken as apparitions in graveyards at night. thanks for reading and have fun in the garden.
